No longer 'head-on collision', domestically produced flexible fiber couplings are first applied to urban rail vehicles

Hunan Daily, June 13 (All-media reporter Huang Tingting) The reporter learned today from Zhuzhou Times New Material Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Times New Materials") that its self-developed flexible fiber coupling has been successfully loaded and applied on a series of Chinese standard subway trains. This is the first time that the domestic flexible fiber coupling has been applied to urban rail vehicles.
(Coupling loading physical map)
The coupling is one of the Chinese standard subway components serialized by the "National Development and Reform Commission's Major Technical Research Project", which is a mechanical part used to connect two shafts in different mechanisms and rotate together to transmit torque. Due to manufacturing errors, installation errors and force deformation, the two axes on the bogie can not be accurately aligned, and the two axes will produce relative displacement in the axial, radial and angular directions, and then the coupling needs to be used to compensate for the displacement.
(Coupling Structural Principle)
If the two axes on the bogie are connected by iron, there will inevitably be problems such as noise and grease leakage. If rubber is used, the "frontal rigidity" of "iron against iron" becomes a "gentle" transmission, which effectively reduces noise and vibration and improves passenger comfort. Times New Materials is the technical research unit of this part, and the flexible fiber coupling independently developed by Times New Materials is made of high-strength fiber and rubber composite processing.
Compared with traditional couplings, this flexible fiber coupling is more than 15% lighter in weight and requires less space for layout; Since there is no need to apply oil or grease, the problem of grease leakage can be completely solved, and maintenance is realized.
